GENERAL DESCRIPTION
North Twin is a freshwater dimictic lake connected to South Twin Lake by a shallow (
1-2 m deep), 457 m long, channel. The lake is surrounded by forested slopes and
agricultural land. The drainage area is used for cattle grazing. On the northern and
eastern shores are numerous cabins and a resort. North Twin Lake has 5 tributaries (
Northeast Inlet, Carson Creek, Northwest Inlet, Beaver Dam Creek, Granite Creek).
Principal drainage is through Stranger Creek and Cornstalk Creek. The lake supports
abundant growths of aquatic macrophytes.
